When there is only an afternoon session, the sessions run from 14:00 to 16:45. There is usually a mid morning and mid-afternoon break of around 15 minutes at the discretion of the conductor.

Bring your own refreshments for lunchtime, morning and afternoon breaks; there is a supermarket within walking distance if you forget. We also have access to basic kitchen facilities including a kettle; tea and coffee is provided.

News

August Playing Day

On Saturday 1st of August 2009 there will be a departure from the normal playing days at recorders@plymouth.

Janice Ormerod will be taking a Bass Recorder Workshop in the morning and a normal playing session in the afternoon. Janice is a very experienced, patient and effective teacher even with the most nervous of players. She is especially well known for her Bass Workshops. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, expert or beginner on the bass. The morning will give you the opportunity to improve your skills in a relaxed environment.

Recorder Orchestra Weekend

There will be a second Recorder Orchestra Weekend at Halsway Manor on Friday 5th to Sunday 7th February 2010. Tutors are Pam Smith and Steve Marshall.

Halsway Manor is an excellent location, easy to find yet remote enough for total peace and quiet, with good heating including the welcome of open fires, comfortable rooms, fine catering and a perfect size for us as a single group - Halsway Manor's website is highly recommended to give you an idea of this superb venue. Booking will open later in 2009.

If you'd like to be notified when more details become available, see the contact information at the bottom of the page.
